5 day liquid fast -- Day 1
I'm fasting for 5 days. The goal is to reset my system so I can get into a proper state of ketosis. I'm not concerned with weight loss. My whole focus is on getting my blood sugars to stabilize without medicine and to get my system used to burning my stored fat.
When I am done with the fast, I will start eating a 1600 calorie diet made up of 1120 calories of fat and 400 calories of protein. I will adjust these number along the way eventually settling into 60% fat and 35% protein.
Today is day one of the fast. I have not eaten since 7pm last night. I am not hungry but I have a strong desire to eat. I just had a cop of broth. It was satisfying. I think the first couple of days, while I burn through all of the sugar in my blood, will be harder. My fasting sugar this morning was 275, so there is a long way to go.
I'm very tired today and focusing has been difficult without my taking any supplements. Tomorrow I will probably take make daily supplements. I hope that does not make me hungry.
